"Not much as you can only port to post paid on Vodafone"
Can someone confirm this?!
sbiddle:on2it:Friends in the states reckon portability is a pain in the arse and you just accept that some traffic will be billed 'on-network' and some won't
Comparing number portability in the USA and NZ is just stupid because there is virtually nothing in common between the two markets. The USA doesn't have CPP for mobile and also had a vast number of local carriers who all operate in their own markets.
Look closer to home in say Australia and you'll see it's worked perfectly since 2001 with only a few small issues.
on2it: Really? The point is that it just gets to complicated to keep track of who's on what network.
Yes, as in the USA they do not use prefixes as far as I am aware. For example in Hawaii the local area code is 808. Both mobiles and landlines share the 808 code, so even telling the difference between landlines and mobiles is difficult. Perhaps some one can confirm this, or correct me on this through??

richms: Perhaps eventually porting a local number to cell and it working like that will be available.
sbiddle: It's been mentioned by Vodafone on several occasions that they would like to launch a local service before the middle of the year.

I accept that this is their intention alright, not look at what their intention was with regards to BestMate on Account?
