If you computers are off or you sure its not one of your computers saturating your upload and this is still happening, then change your router/modem passwords just to make sure its not someone using your wireless etc?

sbiddle: Does the OP understand that if you saturate the upstream connection that you will suffer erratic latency and slow downstream speed? This is the way the internet works - nothing is broken.

This has been communicated. VDSL is the topic of fix but we cant provide a new plan thats going over ADSL with migrations on it yet as its not available. He will still get the 250GB just not the 500GB over VDSL as it comes after..

THEN FIX MY ADSL

Shouting at folks trying to help you will get you zip. I am surprised that the good folks from VF that volunteer their time here are still trying, full marks to them.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

It's not possible to fix something that's not broken. You are the only person who can fix your issue buy ensuring your upload isn't being saturated. Your ISP can't control this, only you can.

I agree. Its completely within your control. There must be some device which is using your upload bandwidth. Is it possible that someone could be using your wifi without permission/knowledge? I would recommend you change your wireless password to rule out the possibility of unknown/unauthorized devices using your wireless without your knowledge and the possibility that your wireless password has been compromised.

Edit: I see crazed has already recommended this.

My ADSL speed.

The non-VF members of this forum have also shown a patience and professionalism they should be proud. Thank you.

Please note: I have a professional bias towards Vodafone.

I think it's possible he (she) doesn't know how their torrenting software works, and it is happily seeding all of their [Linux ISOs].

I suppose that's Vodafone's fault too :/

insane: Get Vodafone to ask chorus for the bandwidth graph for the cabinet you are connected to..

This has been done and issue is not capacity at the cabinet or to the cabinet, Lots of capacity on the link nowhere near maxing out

come on guys be specific what you are trying to say

earlier you say no congestion and now you says that 3 min. congestion

i am sure if you do proper check you will find out issue somewhere at cabinet or exchange e.g. backhoul

anyway had enough will see vodafone in consumer court now

It does not appear you have listened to anything that anyone has said on here regarding your upstream connection.

You can take Vodafone to the disputes tribunal but given the kind of evidence that has been presented here, I'm pretty sure you won't get very far as it appears that Vodafone is, in fact, providing the service as described.

What evidence do you have to suggest it's " issue somewhere at cabinet or exchange e.g. backhoul"

Court really? why? and what statute(s) have they fractured? also they are still helping and advising from what I have seen it is you that is not willing to take remedial or any suggested action to address the issue.

I don't really know what to say mahfooz.

Everyone here has been extremely polite and have asked all the right questions from you.

As I said before, stuck on transmit. I feel most sorry for Vodafone in all this as they appear to have been trying to help.

Good luck with the consumer court.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Your account is undergoing a VDSL upgrade which appears to be scheduled for the 13th February (tomorrow). I'm not sure what else we can help with at this point as the VDSL migration will resolve the issue you are having with your connection.

How have we not helped? We have been attempting to help you understand that the problem as described seems to be most likely due to your upstream connection being saturated with traffic and have provided things for you to check to try and understand why that might be so.

I'm not sure what more Geekzone members (most of which, by the way, have no affiliation with Vodafone whatsoever) could help you with.

what is saturating his upload?

Personally, the attitude being shown seems a bit off to me but I can understand the depths of frustration with a slow connection.

Time has taught me that you cannot assume fault -- something that worked yesterday may not work tomorrow even if nothing appears to have changed . Something innocuous you did may have caused an issue without realising.

I've personally looked at the download / upload log for this connection on our Allot. The link is being thrashed during the time the customer has observed the issue. It isn't all upload though, there's massive download during this time too and all this has been extensively explained.

Slow internet is frustrating for sure. But there is genuinely no line fault here. Also, it reminds me of this comic.
