Yep, she's kicked in now in Ngaio.  Never has the speed between Napier and Welling-town been so fast. Between here and Aucka-landi it still seems t best average, i.e consistently less than 4Mbps. Oh well.

Complaint time?

Do you think I should complain yet?

Upload speed is fine (averaging around 1850kbps) I'm just mortified that I happen to be receiving speeds that are slower than I could achieve on dialup!

Is this constant? Tried other servers? Is it happening only on speed tests but is browsing, emails, etc ok?

Trying to identigy if this is not a problem with the speed test itself.

I get the fastest result(s) from the Napier server (this is the same test as above). It definitely isn't a problem with the servers hosting the speedtests, the problem has been there since Tuesday night, after an 8 hour outage in Upper Hutt. Most websites time out and require a refresh and both the router and cable modems have both been swapped with spares to no avail. TCL faults have scheduled a techie for Wednesday morning. Grr!

You're not node W31 as well are you? Smile

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

I'm about 10 mins drive north of Trentham, unless node W31 serves all of Upper Hutt? The TCL rep. on the phone won't tell me, I just asked.

edit: I'm on w36 :-)

edit 2: Techie has been moved to Monday, 'only thing that can be done' at this stage. Should I perhaps start a new thread so as to not hijack this one?

I got a phonecall earlier today apologizing for the delay in the speed increase, so I've cancelled the techie for tomorrow.

Nothing for me, and funny that two different Telstraclear reps told me I'd get the upgrade (in person) before August. I've read their official response and I'll just have to wait, but I do feel like a kid on Xmas morning who's told he'll definitely get his present before the end of the year.

Telstra is it possible to give some ball park time by which you expect to have completed the migration?
