Tim, I assume you mean UFF for the Hamilton part? Any idea how long before Vodafone TV will become available?

NikT: Are you able to alter my order to 100/20 or do I need to ring and speak to someone to do this?

Probably easier to do once the order has completed.
Could be changed but not sure if UFF will accept or deny the change if already processing.

A few key things about the new plans:

 - If you are currently on a 100/50 or 200/50 fibre plan, or a 130/10 cable plan, you will not be migrated onto a new 100/20 or 200/20 fibre plan or 100/10 cable plan unless you move house

 - If you do want to move onto one of the new plans, give us a bell on 0508 888 800 once your installation is complete (If you are currently waiting on one) and we'll be happy to sort you out

 - The 200/20 fibre speed tier is available through Chorus, Northpower, and UFF, but not Enable just yet

 - Vodafone TV is not yet available over UFF, although it is available over Enable

Are there any details yet on promo pricing/specials as alluded to last week?

Annoys me sooo much that there are people who can choose between HFC and UFB, especially when in CHCH for example there are heaaaaps of places that can't get either yet Enable continue to overbuild HFC areas first. Vodafone could have handled that whole UFB lobbying thing much better.

I would be pretty pissed if I were Vodafone, realistically - invest hundreds of million (billions even?) into building a network, only to have it trampled by the Government not even considering instructing local fibre companies to leave the UFB rollout in those areas put dead last, let alone forming a public-private partnership to utilise the existing network in the medium term? TC/VF didn't handle their lobbying very well though to be fair.

No wonder they are restricting UFB to non-cable areas!

It's a tricky area. LFC's were compelled to reach schools and hosptials in the early years of UFB rollouts - so in some cases this would have compelled them to overbuild TCL's HFC network. If any agreements were to be struck between LFC and TCL, then it would likely be considered an anti-competitive practice - imagine if Mobil agreed with BP that Mobil would cover the south island and BP would cover the north island, and they wouldn't compete in each others territory.

It is frustrating, but there are good reasons that it happened the way that it happened. It is possible that TCL and CFH could have come to an agreement, but Allan Freeth was way too stubborn about the UFB issue

New pricing as per the website, first month is free for new fibre connections on a twelve month term. Would suggest speaking with the sales team on 0800 806 106 for specifics & further info. :)

I had a call from the Fibre Team today asking if we wanted to switch over to Vodafone TV so looks like that is launching on UFF as well.

For the record however, the call centre managing their calls is rather painful to deal with :( (as in their listening skills are poor)

That seems odd. Could you please send me a private message with your account number? I'd like to find out what's going on there.
