Pretty stupid idea to make the customers think they care more about sports results than their daily business. Hopefully they at least have excellent customer service. 😄

Well they are the Main Principal Sponsor of the Warriors so I can see why they are doing it, Plus they have been for longer then most of us have been a customer, so you could say we knew what we signed up for 😅

Well, if you as a customer don't notice that this is being financed by your (overpaid) money outside the industry?

You really have no idea of the context that you are commenting on.

That can certainly be the case. But my reactions would be the same as @RunningMan described.

Anecdotal I know, but I was speaking with someone on Saturday who told me when the network name change first occurred he thought his phone had been hacked. He is from the USA but temporarily working here so has a dual-SIM phone to maintain his US number, and both network names are displayed. T-Mobile (a telecoms provider in the USA) apparently roams to One here.

When I was in my 20s 'Wah' was slang a term for woman.  I think it was short for Wahine, although I'm not 100% sure.

side note: T-mobile emerged from the German state-owned Deutsche Bundespost, founded in 1950, and is in the process of buying up the world (after Europe) as a privatised telecommunications company since 1995, including the USA as a subsidiary. Forbes #66 as of May 2023.

Again mildly unrelated but I wonder if an at&t usa sim would roam on one nz here due to the fact before it was vodafone nz it was bellsouth which then which murged back into at&t. So I wonder if the roaming agreemnts have been maintained over that time peroid.

Even I am a Warriors fan and liked the UpTheWahs while we were still in the playoffs, now that we have bowed out (after a good effort) please go back to One NZ it is now getting stupid.

So I was out driving this morning to pick up an item I had purchased on TradeMe and saw a car with the number plate "UPDWAH" and thought I should come here and comment...

But before I did so I went onto TradeMe to leave feedback...

And on the front page was this listing for the number plate "UPDWAH"!

I see that plate has "Lets Gone Warriors" as a tagline. What? Then find out is something that came out of a real fan banner (number one on the list at bottom of page).

That Final ended up much closer than it looked like it would be at half time!
