Also remember that pretty much everyone in NZ has a mobile phone and a lot of those people already have a Vodafone mobile account. For these people, it's a fantastic deal!

For those who want to go naked and who are on account with Telecom mobile, it makes good sense to switch to Vodafone and save $30 off your naked plan....

Naked DSL won't suit everyone but i know a lot of people who it would suit and until now there hasn't been all that much of an advantage to switch.

Yes Shadybrothers, I realise that :)

I'm just saying for most of NZ that is on prepaid then it is a non-event.

I do agree it is a great deal if you are the sort of person who uses their mobile heavily enough to get value from being on a contract.

The other downside and it's a major one is you will have to deal with Vodafone customer service.  At least since you are on a contract they won't be charging you $1 per call when you need to ring them.

It mentions that you need an on contract mobile, does this include the home phone wireless pack?

EDIT... So going by some other websites it does. If this is the case is there a bundle signup, or do I need to sign up for the homephone wireless first then naked dsl offer?

Vodafone...
Ultimate - $90 30gb and home line
Naked DSL - $55 30GB naked DSL + $40 home phone wireless = $95. So for $5 more I get free calling nationwide :)

My Current plan.

Total home lite - $80 + $20 upgrade to 20GB a month, $100, + $2.50 for caller ID. Plus that only lets me have free calling to one number.

So at the min cost per month $102.50.

Hmmm....

Free calling nationwide is not an incentive for a majority of people however. Yes, it works out not too bad if I was to move a mobile to vodafone on the cheapest plan when compared to slingshot naked dsl, but this is what I have done since the 13th on slingshot:



I would be dead in the water already on a 30 gig plan, and if I doubled it no good in 3-4 days unless I really cut down on the HD downloads.

IMO naked DSL + Local Zone = ultimate win ... if only I didn't live somewhere that had been "cabinetised"!

Also not sure if anyone else has noticed but on a 12 month contract you'll get a free Vodafone Broadband Complete wireless router and connection.

Usually the wireless router comes on a 24 month contract.

A bit stink this. Was all set to sign up but have been told it is not available in Pukekohe. Don't quite know what is going on. Slingshot naked is available out here.....

Who told you that? Naked DSL is available nationwide - you can't get the red network connection price unless you're in the red network area, and you can check that on the VF website, but everyone is eligible to buy Naked if they want. Red customers get a $10 discount over and above the wholesale customers.

EDIT: just been told it's not quite nationwide - sigh. Check your address on the /naked website - it'll tell you. However, I'm not sure why it wouldn't be available in Puk.

Vodafone sales. This has been going on since last Friday. I think it may go back to when the phone was disconnected two years ago by Telstraclear. I will PM you...
