Heya, well I told them that I was only browsing in the Vodafone area and she said that it doesn't matter where you browse, you still get billed.  They also told me that I owe like $15.00 of wap usage?? I dont browse that long, I just go search artist etc and thats it.

that sounds wrong to me. I know that Vlive browsing is free, as long as you're not downloading content e.g. music/videos etc.

Are you on prepay or contract? This thread is about bestmate so I'd assume you're on prepay but how can you owe money $15 on prepay? if you're on account, I'd suggest you get your bill and check it out, it shuold tell you what you've been charged as well as the domain/site you were on at the time. Possibly you were on Vlive then got redirected to a non-vlive site without realising it?

Hey, yes you are right I am on Prepaid.  I am very furious atm because I am very cautious as to how long I am on Vodafone live, I dont think I will be downloading anymore stuff anymore.  Maybe I should of just went to Telecom, Vodafone is just wasting my money.

Hey 100% sure, I rung up Vodafone just before and I have to ring them back.  They said they had a technical diffuculty getting into my account so they are working on the issue and just ring back later on.

Actually before I ring them back up she did mention last night that I might have a different type of wap open, like other than the Vodafone gateway or something like that.  How would I find out what gateway is open?.

You only have 2 access points VFNZ internet and VFNZ Gateway (this is for WAP traffic) PXT and Vodafone live and WAP sites

Its not possible to have more than 2 open and it would not affect charging

Hey everyone!

Sorry about the double post (yet again) I am still mad at Vodafone because I just got off the phone with them and they said that I spent the money on wap charges and I told then that aren't they supposed to be free? and they still said that I was charged for that.  I also told them that I couldn't do text 2000 and I was being charged for texting people on 021 (excluding my best mate) and she said that I had already sent over 2000 texts to vodafone people (which is not true) I mainly text my best friend and thats all, I hardly text other people, I have only sent about no more than 500 texts to other Vodafone people.  I knew that getting a Vodafone phone was a bad idea.

Hey

Thanks for your response.  I am actually on both networks and what sucks more is that I spent money on a new phone last month to get a 3g phone coz the Panasonic phone was giving me non stop problems and now the whole network is giving me problems.  I have no idea what to do, I have purchased tons of phones and I just don't want to purchase a new phone as it's wasting my money.

Once again Internal WAP is free, External WAP is charged for.
Do you remember when you signed up for TXT2000 by any chance? was it 10/11/12th this month? (check the renewal date on bal to 777)

I can look at this for you if you like, it seems like you are getting some incorrect info from customers ops. Send me an email off board if you like

Thanks for your response, however Johnr is helping me out (by the way thanks Johnr) however it shows on his screen that I had not in fact been charged for browsing Vodafone Live.  So I don't know what the previous operators saw.  At this point of time I have no idea whats going on which sucks.  I just remembered something else too, one operator told me I owed money on my account but when I rung up again (pretending I didn't know why I couldn't text other people even though I rung up about it once before) and she didn't even see that I owed money on my phone so at the moment its very VERY confusing for me.

Hey pat :))

I suggest you stop bestmating hayden, buy a new sim card and then set it all up again... maybe it was a problem with your account... not your phone!

I am only topping up my phone once more time to pay for the IOU thing and thats about it, i ain't going to buy me a new phone number as I have changed my phone number sooo many times over the past years and I am going to be topping up my Telecom phone and texting from that.  I like Telecom better now not only because of my problem but also because its 500 texts to any network in New Zealand and I like that.  So yeah I am going to stop spending money on my Vodafone and more on my Telecom phone.
