The majority of customers on the 5G and 20G plans had their speed upgraded for free by August 1st as planned.

Some customers however have not had the free speed increase yet due to an unexpected technical matter which has required resolution first. Approximately half of those remaining were completed last night (see above) and the remainder are expected to be completed on Tuesday Aug 14th.

We apologise to those customers who have not yet enjoyed the benefits of faster broadband, and hope that those who have, are making the most of your faster speeds.

Good to know that. It would be really good if there were a way to provide better data caps though. The increased speed just makes me reach my limit faster!

i agree, although so far im wrapped about the speed of my connection - getting over the advertised speed comming from adsl which gave me around dial up speeds - i cant help but wish for a lil' more data

So after the 14th of August deadline that Telstra mentioned above, anyone still waiting for this speed upgrade? I myself have yet to be upgraded despite power cycling etc. Might be time to get in the phone que :d

I quite often get speed tests reading 13-14mbps. Ever since that time a few months back when people reported getting 25mbps for a night after that equipment / system upgrade.

Also I tend to get 1.2MB/s more often than not, whereas before I'd range from 900KB/s to 1.2MB/s.

Speed tests lie.

Got my upgrade today! Hooray. I finally got around to calling them and apparently I was set up for 10Mbps but they did something to my account and told me to power cycle the modem. A couple of speed tests later & all is well... I can sleep at nights again. ;)
