freitasm: Yep. When you can buy 1 GB for $1 at some ISPS, $12 for 3 MB is abusive.

Not really comparing apple to apples.
$12 for 3mb (there are better plans btw), is a premium for being mobile and being able to pick up your email/browse the web where ever you have coverage.

I'm not sure I totally agree. That's definitely the reasoning, but doesn't Woosh use a 3G GSM network to offer their wireless broadband?
And they're selling traffic at NZ$60 for 20GB.
Even better, analyzing their fee structure, it looks like it's NZ$25 for the account, so it's NZ$35 for 20GB, which is right there at what I last heard was the international wholesale rate. At least it's what I pay Telstra Clear per GB. However, given that XNet is selling off-peak traffic at ~$1/GB now, the wholesale rate must have dropped. :)
SightUnseen:Woosh use proprietary Wideband CDMA.

The discussion is the validity of mobile data charges - Woosh is the counter argument. Helps that they're owned by Vodafone!
jpollock: Did I manage to get anything right in there? :)
