hmmm ok.. so thats how i used to get 3.5mbit then i guess, so that puts me 1.9KM away from it acording to google, ill check when i go out tomorrow though...

so on a conklin at 2M distance should i be expecting a fair bit more than 2mbit and expecting less downstream  Line Attenuation than 58?

i have a central splitter all installed (didn't make any difference to my line surprisingly though)

You would not have 58db line attenuation if you were connected to a nearby conklin. Your sync speed would be upto 8mpbs (standard ADSL1 speed), but obviously throughput is limited to 3.5mbps max.

hmm ok, given that chorus have told us we are connected to the cabnet at gregory road, that would mean we are connected to the green cabnet going back to the exchange right? if so what are the chances of being transferred to the conklin?  while chorus have been there i have seen it open with a fair bit of space in it (guess they wouldnt wanna be paying to put more ports in it i guess though)

is this something i can ask my isp to see if we can be moved to the conklin or will that just not happen?
