Ok, now I'm down to less than 10% of the value I'm paying for.

Wrong.

N

Ya, sorry, that wasn't actually worded well.  Please see my earlier post on value issues.

The issue is that the value proposition has changed.  You're quite right, if I choose to grab a big chunk of data (which I will grab a couple of back ups if I can) then I've traded speed for data.

I am a little surprised that the speed has dropped quite this much though.  I was expecting some impact, but not quite 90%.

sbiddle: Those doing speed tests or ping tests to WIX or anything hosted at WIX need to remember TCL don't peer there - your traffic will all typically route via APE.

Yes understand thanks man but that was why it is a good test. Wanting to not just test their hybrid network but their connection to other NZ hosts during this, not just international like everyone else. Also explaining in full in what im pinging so its helpfull to others. Cheers sbiddle !  May the unmetered madness continue ! :-)

I don't see what they can do to fix speed, apart from maybe tweaks? Wonder where the problems lie.

They could prioritise traffic, so games and the like aren't bogged down from the onslaught of downloads.  It's really only the gaming side of things that I'm having performance issues...web browsing seems just as snappy.

Freitasm, quite obviously your issues are separate and not related to free traffic weekend, I thought your rant on your blog was completely uncalled for too.

I've just been gaming (BF3) and its been perfectly fine (capped downloads @ 600kb/s while I was gaming).

So far for me no difference browsing and gaming, downloads are running about 60% of their normal speed.

Pretty happy so far.
