I also told them that I couldn't do text 2000 and I was being charged for texting people on 021 (excluding my best mate) and she said that I had already sent over 2000 texts to vodafone people (which is not true) I mainly text my best friend and thats all, I hardly text other people, I have only sent about no more than 500 texts to other Vodafone people. I knew that getting a Vodafone phone was a bad idea.

Wap is not free. This is clearly explained by both networks.

"only sent about no more than 500 texts" ? Sounds like you are really not sure. Beyond 20 or 30 you would be surprised how hard it is to keep track in your head. So if you "hardly text other people" but have sent "about no more than 500 texts" to those people, and "mainly text my best mate" then surely you text WAY more than 500 to your mate, and you are getting close to, if not exceeding 2000?

If I knew that getting a Vodafone was a bad idea in advance like you did, then i wouldnt do it.

First off I am going to do what Simon14 said unfortunately which is buy a new simcard and this time I am going to write down how many texts etc I am doing on Vodafone, although I dont know what that would achieve but its worth a shot even though I am supposed to that money towards saving for my trip up the line. It's sooo frustrating because all the bad stuff creeps up to me a few weeks before I go away!.

I know browsing outside the Vodafone live website ain't free but I am talking about browsing within the Vodafone store and that is free.

I am positive that I have sent no more than 500 texts. I don't really text that much, so thats why I am getting a new sim card and seeing what happens, I am just hoping that it's my sim card thats the problem and yeah like I said the first paragraph I am going to this time write down how many texts I have sent.

There is no way this is a SIM card fault

SIM card does not action much but ID you on the network and hold contact details

mmm is anyone else having problems with replying to threads? I had to use the 'quote' button to get this.

Regarding WAP traffic being charged for. It may be that you're using the wrong APN for browsing? I think that if you use anything other than the VFNZ WAP APN then you will be charged, even if it is Vlive. Although I'm not entirely sure if you can even access Vlive from the internet APN.

I have actually put it on my phone so I don't think it's worth putting on trademe or is it?. Also something thats weird is when I switched my phone on I got text messages from people I don't know, I know that it ain't my friends because their numbers are still on my phone. I got 3-4 messages from one person HAHA. I also can't register so I will need to contact Vodafone very soon.

Hmm I just tried again and this time it worked, last time I tried I went to the Vodafone website and typed in the search box register my phone number online and it came up with it clicked on the link, clicked register and entered in the number and then it came up with an error can't remember what it said.

Im getting the exact same problem on prepay credit dissapearing off my account. im on supaprepay and txt2000 i had $10 credit after i signed up to txt2000 and immediately my credit started to go down. I never use wap and i never call and i have positively only sent under 10 messages to 027. i now have 80cents left on my account. Tried to call vodafone but i never get through being too busy.

Heya

Well I forgot to leave a comment saying I fixed it on the following day, I got the $10.00 credit accredited to my phone account.

I think that what Gingeralenz is saying that when he went on txt 2000 he wasn't expecting the whole $10.00 to go out of his account unlike how Telecom takes credit for their monthly texts. I thought that as well at first but Simon14 told me that they take out the lump sum of $10.00 at time of applying for the Txt2000 addon.

Vodafone nokia phone bought from Noel Leeming... pretty standard. And no i put $20 on the phone and $10 went off for txt2000 but my remaining $10 credit has slowly been disappearing over two weeks i only have 80c left. I havent made any calls / and i never browse web,,, just under 10 texts to 027 numbers.

Ok then, you might have had the problem as I had before in one of my previous posts about my phone losing credit. which is about my phone automatically checks for e-mails even though you didn't set that option, this is what JohnR wrote in a previous post for me to try and maybe its that same problem:

check in messages settings under Email that the phone is not set to check for email at certain time frames

Are PrePay users not able to log into Vodafone's web site and get a statement showing what has drawn apon their PrePay credit?
