coffeebaron:johnr: 2100mhz 3G is still been deployed!
Will this likely be rolled out to the smaller towns too? I.E. the ones that are getting 900 3G, so they have dual band 3G? This would be useful for serving people in the town centre, whilst the 900 would serve further out.
The advantage here I guess would be greater capacity (as 2100 is better here), and obviously the majority of 3G phones (currently out there) will be 2100 only for sometime yet.
I can't see us rolling out two kinds of 3G in the same place but we are continuing to roll out 2100MHz where it makes sense and we'll deploy 900MHz where that makes sense.
Currently we're committed to rolling out 3G in 19 main centres around New Zealand and we're using a mixture of both for that, but not both in the same location, I don't believe.
Cheers
