It's not over until the fat lady sings.

She sings at 9pm.

We've had a remarkably good (Island Bay) 100/10 connection today - normal pings. local and overseas - plus full 100/10 Mbps speeds (Wellington, Auckland, Sydney, & Melbourne) all day to 7pm.

Watch This Space.

Yep, my connection is looking fine right now. High 90s, 10ms ping. Fingers crossed.

Dylan, I've sent a PM to you about this update.

Well that is almost acceptable!

I guess something is backwards here today. And that's a good thing! We'll see if it holds in an hour, though.

It really is just trading places, I used to get better than this when you all were getting the single digits.

Netflix is happily streaming away at 5.8Mbps for the first time (at this time of night) in ages.
Ran a simultaneous speed test and still got over 90Mbps. Ping still rock solid.

Still not the witching hour but normally I've seen significant degradation by now.

Wellington:

Auckland:

Melbourne:

BINGO!

A huge improvement in HFC performance today.
Normal pings and full rated speed all day.
These are the best results that I've had for months.

Thank you Vodafone techs!

At 8:59pm:

It seems some nodes are doing a little better than other - local congestion?

9 PM. The world's still a bit upside-down compared to normal. Again, not complaining. ;)

Also, dat latency! Please Vodafone, can it be like this every night? <3

I'm not currently home to test our connection but it really sounds like such ducks, so row, very cable.
