Just received:


Warehouse Mobile is a new prepay mobile offering, which is available exclusively through The Warehouse (stores and online) from November 23rd, 2015. Warehouse Mobile aims to provide the simplest and most flexible prepaid offering in the market, ultimately connecting Kiwis for less.


I am trying to find more information about this and will post as soon as I have this.

UPDATE: the network is provided by 2degrees.

Considering their branding / color, i would've imagined them to partner with Vodafone. Saves printing costs :P

Gold Mobile was a MVNO operated by the Warehouse group, using the Telecom CDMA network. Telecom bought the prepaid customers - back then I was in the Unisys telco practice and created the workflow to import and integrate Gold Mobile customers into Telecom Prepaid offering.

This was later 90s work. Here's a page with some of the Gold Mobile prepaid cards.

Did Gold ever do CDMA? I (briefly) had a phone on the old Telecom AMPS network with Gold, but don't recall them still being around for CDMA.

Boost was a Telecom brand. Gold was a MVNO operated by Warehouse. Actually could've been even before CDMA, now that I think about it.

Might see what they offer and swap out my sims in my GPS trackers from 2deg to them if it works out cheaper, but using 2deg basically eliminates them from the running for my main phones.

A: Their prices are dramatically cheaper than the others (I doubt 2degrees would let them be
B: You pay less and get less? Perhaps not paying for stuff you don't need

Or it's closely aligned with Skinny's $9/mo pack (30 mins, Unlimited Text, 100MB data) which does make sense for non-heavy users.
