Is there any advantage (e.g. battery life) to keeping this, versus moving the personal SIM to another network?
Thanks for any help.

Your biggest advantage would be to move your personal sim to Spark or Skinny for Coverage reasons.
If your goal is to reduce battery usage, there are minor gains to dropping to a single sim.

I'm mainly just checking that my battery life isn't going to get significantly worse than it is.
never said you would have coverage issues, simply that when it does matter you might have an improvement. eg rural areas are normally heavily VF covered or Heavy Spark Covered.

If you are using the SIM for any data & app related activities; i.e. check your work email, bla bla bla; then be aware that your employer can generally wipe your phone remotely & in the process destroying your personal data.

I don't think there's provision for that over the SIM itself?
I don't think they really have the IT skills to do that/know that they can do that, anyway.

How do they do that at the SIM level? I know that they can do that if the employer uses G Suite for work email, and you use an android phone. ...
Yeah, I could have phrased that better. Using employer related apps & services could potentially trigger the remote wipe, with or without the employers SIM.
Very simply stated, be very careful mixing work & personal life in any way.
