Looks like there is no cat 4, band 28 compatible option available at this stage.
How does this look like for a top two? Netcomm NTC-140 RouterBoard: Mikrotik RB433GL or RB953GS-5HnT, enclosure ??? internal cabling and antenna connectors ???, Sierra 4G/3G MiniPCI card ??? MC73xx maybe.
Antenna: AY-15 log periodic antenna
Could someone please help me with a shopping list for the Mikrotik build.
It looks as though we will have a fully embedded router with Cat4 Band 3 (1800Mhz) available over the next few weeks. Still waiting for confirmation around model etc and then testing but PM me if you want more info.
Looks like I am heading for a RB912UAG-2HPnD http://routerboard.com/RB912UAG-2HPnD with an external enclosure, a 7-9db 2.4g Omni for the built in Wifi.
Still not sure on the 3G/4G mini PCIe card and directional 700-2100MHz antenna though.
I am using a Cisco 897 POE for my switching, security and VPN duties so I am thinking of trunking my Vlans up to the 912s Wifi adapter to give me a 2GHz (n) LAN outdoors, pity it doesn't do 802.11ac like my Ubiquiti indoor WAP... Hopefully I can get the 912 to do a WAN IP passthrough to a POE port on the 897 which would also power the RB. I can then use EMM scripts, IPSLA, two static routes, two route maps, and two NAT statements for WAN fail over. I also have to try and configure DMVPN for tunnels with non static IPs along side my point to point VPNs over my existing static IP WAN link.
Still confused about the directional antenna for 700-2100Mhz and which LTE card to get though.
Board: Mikrokit RB912UAG-2HPnD PCIe with built in 1000mW 2GHz Wifi module. I didn't go for the 5HPacD which would give me 5GHz ac connectivity as my WISP is running on 5GHz
LTE/3G cards: Cat 4 cards the will do LTE band 3 and quad or penta band UMTS bands 1,2,5,8: UBlox: Data Only Data and Voice Intel: Intel xmm7160
Enclosure: RF Elements StationBox ALU IP65 weather resistant, shielded, with plenty of knock outs for the two chain MIMO Wifi and the LTE/3G antenna OR KamFab large OR small
Antenna 2G Wifi MIMO: 2X 8dbi ZyAIR Outdoor dual polarised Omni with N jacks $160 each. OR 2X 6dbi Ubiquiti Outdoor Omni with SMA jacks $25 each.
