One lowest price focused company selling services made by another lowest price focused company, sounds perfect! :)

My mobile used to be on a Warehouse plan, around 4-5 years ago (from memory).

Slightly disappointing offering, nothing too special and no packs/bonuses etc.

And hit's live:

Warehouse Mobile launches with NZ’s lowest standard prepay rates

Warehouse Mobile, The Warehouse’s new mobile brand has launched in stores across the country today, offering New Zealand’s lowest* standard prepay rates.

Kiwis now have access to a simpler and more flexible prepaid option, so they can get the most out of their credit: for a minimum $10 top up every 31days, customers receive 2c texts, 4c per minute talk time to any New Zealand network and 6c per MB of data.

CEO of The Warehouse, Simon Turner says prepay customers want rates that aren’t complicated and are flexible so they can use more of what they need.

“With Warehouse Mobile, New Zealanders won’t be restricted by allocations, nor will they have to spend more than they need to on bundles and extras. For example, if a customer only wants to make calls this month, then they can top up $10 and get up to 250mins calling time without having to pay for the text and data they don’t want to use.” he said.

Warehouse Mobile aims to meet the needs of the two-thirds of New Zealanders who use prepay mobile services, specifically targeting those paying standard rates.

“We know that those customers want value, flexibility, an easy to understand offering, and of course 97 percent coverage and all necessary NZ-based customer support, so we think Warehouse Mobile’s 2c text, 4c talk and 6c data offer will be a great option for them.

“Prepay is already part of our core business - we’re the number one channel in that part of the mobile industry, plus we have fantastic footfall from which to grow our market share further.

“Globally, retailers have been making a move into mobile for some time now and like them, we’re always looking for ways to offer great value to customers and promote customer choice and competition,” said Mr Turner

Warehouse Mobile’s number range is 0284 and numbers can be ported from other providers. SIMs and handsets are available from all The Warehouse stores, and top ups will be available at normal outlets such as petrol stations and dairies.

The Warehouse Group has established Warehouse Mobile as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) and has partnered with 2degrees who’ll provide technical expertise and infrastructure.

Warehouse Mobile’s new ‘squbble’ (square bubble) logo was designed by The Warehouse’s in-house creative team and reflects the mobile brand’s positioning as an essential product that is available to customers at a bargain price.

While many colour palettes were explored throughout the design process, the core colour of ‘Warehouse red’ was selected, given its integral role in the brand’s personality, as well as three accent colours that add freshness and vibrancy to the overall design. Finally, the three stylised connection icons represent the three proposition attributes of: value, simplicity and flexibility; calls, text and data; and 2c, 4c and 6c.

First thing I noticed there appears to be a monthly use limit under the pricing

I bought a SIM only pack this morning with an 0284 number    I used a  Spark phone which was not SIM Locked   registered easily  .
I also managed to make  it ROAM / Connected on Vodafone , even in this area where this full 2 Degrees coverage . Would not roam  on the Spark network

monthly credit expiry is a bit of a setback    ( worse than telstra ) lol

Yes I'm not too keen on the " Loaded credit expires after 31 days."  handy for Intl visitor though..

Also don't like the idea of minimum spend.

I also registered on the website ,  and did a top up with a  Voucher from the warehouse ,  worked fine
'
Some credit has already been used   but I can't see on the website  what it was used for    there doesn't not seem to be any  ( useage ) indication   .

Will keep experimenting .    I made a call to it from my 2 degrees mobile ( with a combo ) to see if its classed as a ( free 2 degrees to 2degrees same network call )

I dont know who their target was when coming up with those plans. Someone who wants to just have low casual rates and no decent chunks of data or mins is going to be a very light user, so not want to be topping up monthly or losing credit because they didnt top up.
