johnr: I am guessing they also failed to mention those that live in zero / low mobile coverage and have fixed broadband from VodafoneNZ can get ' Sure Signal '

I have been thinking about rolling them out. Unfortunatley you cant control who has data access on them - nearby RBI customers could lock on. I wouldnt mind putting a few in beach communities if we could only allow calling and txting.

Yes, have seen a few RBI connections lock on to a nearby SureSignal that is on a Vodafone ADSL1 Conklin connected connection :)

Umm, isnt selling a sure signal to someone on one of those a little bit pointless?

Would a voice call even work with that much latency and packet loss?

I suppose SMS would work, not much else tho.

When Vodafone launched their SureSignal, they did this massive promo out at Bethells Beach, helicopter trip and all. I wonder how those are now working off that Conklin. Though if the greenies don't get their way, a new mobile phone tower is coming to the area.
