The registrant contact details for mobilesignalbooster.co.nz don't appear to be valid, surely the domain could be suspended/cancelled because of just that?

well yes one would think that mbie could do something about it....

there are still a lot of ppl out there just importing them from aliexpress etc. came across a couple in the last 2 weeks. but the biggest site that ppl get them from is that mobilesignalbooster site and sadly he is based in the uk. hidden somewhere on the site it does stats approval is needed from the network/freq holders to operate the boosters. its his way of getting out of having to give a refund when i turn up and say its causing interference.

I’d like to get hold of one of these and test it on my spectrum analyzer. It will be interesting to see the type of interference. Is it just simply being on the wrong channel, or are there a lot of in-band spurs due to the use of cheap components, eg cheap DDS chips.

If the folks in Shenzhen spent a bit more on their R and D and got things right, also do things the right way in terms of licensing their device properly, then they wouldn’t have issues. It’s the same with broadcast transmitters for radio, people buy them from AliExpress and use them on the low power FM frequencies which are limited to 1Watt - then they wonder why they get a knock on the door from an RSM inspector - these things spew out rubbish and cause interference in the aircraft band.
