Did you try 2 degrees? One their customer service team said they can do family set up but didn’t seem to know how so I’m not sure that’s correct!

no local store to ask in person so that was just via the Facebook support team

yeah, be careful with support staff.  Spark online support and local store told me they could do it, but once I purchased the watch and tried to actually set it up they realized they didn’t. They were good enough to refund my plans.

I emailed 2degrees and One who both said they didn’t.

Did you ever find an answer or solution?

I wanted to get my son a Apple Watch but can't find a carrier that allows the family setup... Also looked into spacewalk but have heard lots of people have issues with them after 3g changes in nz..

Emailed 2degrees they say its an apple issue (its not) just dropped it after that cos it would just go round and round in circles... In the end choose to do nothing, it was ultimately driven by the mrs wanting to have some way of communicating with an intermediate aged kid.. but she has largely gotten over it as I have convinced her some independence and freedom is not a bad thing..

The younger one got a garmin bounce 2 which is ideal (but pricy) its a bit 'kiddish' for an intermediate age kid..

It is no one's issue just that no NZ carriers have decided to support / release it

Yes - but 2dgrees support responding that it was an Apple issue told me all I needed to know about how much they knew about it and if they were looking at it any time soon or not...

You are dreaming if you think front line staff know about future plans or changes coming especially around Apple products & services

Anyone in the know will be under NDA until it is up on the website / public information
