Hi there i am having trouble receiving incoming calls via a Gigaset 580IP, outgoing calling is OK.

When you try to ring the ddi it hangs up internally and if you call externally it forwards onto our customer service number.

A quick overview this is part of our corporate wan so all ports are open,PABX is an Alcatel 4760. The 580 has the latest firmware.

Thanks
Mark

EDIT: We have installed the x-lite softphone app in which we can receive both incoming and outgoing calls.

This makes me believe it is a configuration issue on the 580IP

Without knowing a lot more about the setup the most anybody could do is take stabs in the dark.

Typically such a scenario would be one of two things. A firewall issue or the phone isn't registered correctly.

It is hard to help when you don't even say who your voip provider is....

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Appreciate the replies

@ Biddle i am leaning towards a registration problem since we are only currently connecting within our WAN (all ports open)

@ Hairy we wont be using a voip provider. This solution is for a remote site which is linked through a VPN tunnel hosted by our ISP (Datacom)

Effectively the goal is to reduce phone calling cost's by allowing the remote site to use a local NZ DDI from our PABX.

Thanks getting Zintel to investigate
