Does anyone know if the 0800Voip are still open for business?

I've sent them a few messages, and left a voicemail and nothing back. If not, can anyone recommend any reputable and cheap outlets to purchase voip wireless phones?

http://nicegear.co.nz/ - seems to have as pretty good rep. Not sure if prices are the cheapest, but it might be worth paying a little extra.

Thanks for the input guys. Just tossing up getting a stand alone VoIP phone like gigaset 610ip or just an ATA device into the new vodafone vdsl modem.

If it were me I would go with a straight VoIP phone rather than an ATA, they do cost a bit more but you get more features like wideband audio.

There's a couple options, Gigaset as you mentioned, Yealink W52P or the Panasonic DECT range.

Yah I am really considering doing away with our ATA's and getting 2 Dect Voip Phones at home. Though I just spent $80 on a wireless headset for our Unidens..

It's a decent sized house and sound quality and features are a big deal, happy for a recommendation (and a good price).

The snom m9? They are okay, I actually replaced ours with a Yealink W52P a while back and found the sound quality to be an improvement.

I've never thought the snom DECT phones were quite as nice as their desktop ones.

Agreed. The desktop phones are good and solid, the DECT phones seemed like they were rushed and a bit of an after thought.

Agreed. The desktop phones are good and solid, the DECT phones seemed like they were rushed and a bit of an after thought.

I found the m9r's to be reasonable.

I've deployed a few Yealink W52P and they are certainly a good phone for the price. Just found their HD-Voice quality sounds slightly "harsh". Still beats anything plugged into an ATA port and if you are hard of hearing, volume is good on these too.

WARNING don't even think about buying US cordless phones. These so often run on different frequencies and can get you into trouble from the MED (and of course @JohnR ). There have been a few instances like this, e.g. someone who thought they'd save $$ buy the US version of Snom's. The phones caused disruption to mobile phone towers. Very expensive lesson.
Same goes for baby monitors, or anything with RF really.
