Anyone know if it is possible to transfer calls on 2Talk's CloudPBX extensions and also show the incoming caller ID?

At the moment when we answer a call and then transfer it to another extension, that 2nd extension sees a call coming from our 2talk DDI rather than the original call's caller ID.
Is it possible to have the original call's caller ID show up on the extension that the call is transferred to?

It doesn't appear to make any difference if we do an attended or blind transfer.

Have you tried with a softphone or similar to see it is coming through in a different field?

It may be in PAI or something

I haven't tried doing this before, but if using CloudPBX thought it would be possible..

I've never really taken much notice of this since normally I deal with "proper" PABX's....

But what I would expect is that doing a blind transfer you should see the A-party CID immediately once the transfer is complete.

When doing an attended transfer you should see the B-party CID and then once the B-party actually transfers the call (after announcing) the A-party CID should show up.

Never actually tested myself on 2Talk as really only use them for SIP trunking. Have you flicked a ticket to support? They are generally pretty good at answering these sorts of questions.

I suspect it is actually a setting on the Yealink phones so I'll need to have a play with them and see what happens.

It's nothing to do with phones - it's whether a SIP302 redirect is occurring with a transfer.

I know historically 2talk didn't support SIP302 (in part because Asterisk struggled and their old core was primarily running on Asterisk). I have no idea of the current status.

just tested this yesterday from a yealink SIPT22 handset.

1. works fine if you forward your phone B/NA - you get the original caller ID
2. unattended transfer - you get the account CID
3. attended transfer - you get the account CID

Sorry, I should have quantified that - I tested first with a yealink T22 registered to the 2talk cloud pbx.

if you select forward my calls all of the time in the portal the original CID of the caller is sent.

if you do an unattended transfer call the 2talk DDI CID is sent.

If you do an attended transfer the 2talk DDI CID is also sent.

With the same phone registered to a mypbx (asterisk based system) forwarding on B/NA or attended/unattended transferring is the same you get your 2talk DDI CID.

With Spark SIP and Avaya IP Office you can get the original CID by programming.

Hmm strange I just tested with a Yealink Sip-T20 and it does work as I thought it should.

Doing an attended transfer, using #0 then the extension number, shows the 2talk DDI CID of the Yealink phone.
Doing an unattended/blind transfer, using ## then the extension number, shows the original callers CID.

Now to test another Yealink with the DSS keys that are configured for BLFs.

Edit: Tested with BLF configured DSS keys on a Yealink T27P and it shows the same thing. You can configure how the keys do the transfer in the web config, and with them set to Attended then it shows the 2talk DDI CID, and if you set it to Unattended then it shows the original callers CID.
So it looks like my original problem is solved. :)

Yes you are right. I was using the phones transfer button. Using the 2talk short codes both #00 and #0 showed the 2talk DDI for me.
