Hi there,

Im using VOIP with Worldexchange and a PAP2T. I also have a HP C7200 fax/scanner/printer. I can send faxes from my fax mode, one at a time. But im wanting to send multiple faxes at once and get a report back as to which one was completed and which timed out or was busy or whatever. The standard HP software works well, but the reporting side of the software is crap and only gives me a log of 30 recently sent faxes.

So i guess im looking for software that i can use to schedule a weekly fax to a list of numbers and get a comprehensive report back on the results.

Can anyone advise on this.

Sorry i should state that im using XP as my platform. I have seen software from GFI but it seems to be only for servers..?? dont know what that means. but doesnt look xp friendly.

any help?

What about using 2talk's email to fax service, and just schedule an email send

2talk will report back delivery status

You need to use the T.38 protocol for reliable faxing and the PAP2T doesn't support that.

If you have a rock solid internet connection then faxing over alaw/ulaw will work but that typically won't happen over most residential ADSL connections. If you want reliable faxing I'd dump the PAP2T and get a newer SPA2xxx or SPA3xxx device such as a 2102 or 3102 that supports T.38

There are desktop fax solutions that will install a fax driver that will "speak" T.38 SIP to a remote VoIP provider but this solution wouldn't work for VFX as only certified endpoints can be used. It could however work with 2talk. From memory the software is about about $60 per desktop.

The cheapest option is as mentioned above using the 2talk email<>fax gateway.

Another otpion I have used and is still operational is an email to fax service from Dgital Island. They have been very helpfull and reliable and very reasonable in cost.
Though I have also configured the 2talk fax service now, which is more economical.

The 2talk fax service has saved me a lot of headaches in the VoIP world.

I wonder if anyone has ever tried to get fax working over the old iTalk system? I have not tried as I don't have a physical machine.

I'm also using the 2Talk fax service, much more reliable than other's I've used such as Maxo (Australia) and MyNetFone (Australia).
