Hi all
Can anyone help me with setting up my netcomm v300 for italk please.

I haven't used one of these devices but looking on the web the following should work fine.


Firstly go into the main configuration menu


Phone Number:  <your italk no ie 649974xxxx>

Display Number: <your italk no ie 649974xxxx>

Auth ID: <your italk no ie 649974xxxx>

Auth Password: <your italk password>

Confirm Password: <your italk password>

Proxy/Register: akl.italk.co.nz

Codec: ulaw  

note g729 may offer better voice quality over lower speed connections. ulaw uses just over 90kbps in each direction (180kbps total for a call) g.729 uses around 30kbps in each direction

DTMF: rfc2833

Payload Type: 101

Use proxy : Yes 

Port No: 5060


There is also a QoS setting in this router which you can set to your maximum upload speed but this only works if you are are using the v300 as a router (ie plugged straight into a modem). If the v300 is downstream from another router then it will make no difference. If you have a router that supports QoS I highly recommend enabling this.
