hairy1: You might be better off trying to port a "real" number to get around these sort of issues. I had a few problems with my VFX allocated 09926.... number until I ported my real Pukekohe 09 238... number when I was with VFX. 2talk were good with my number port. It took about a week. If you have telecom number /edit account/ you can customer link a local telecom allocated number then port it to 2talk.
Cheers,

Matt.

For what it's worth the 2Talk numbers are real numbers  I have a 0 9 280 xxxx number

kiwiscoota: I recently signed up for a 2Talk business service,  while it works well on outgoing calls I do have some major reservations about incoming calls.

(a) I can receive calls from Telecom NZ landline and Telecom Mobiles.

(b)  I can receive calls from Vodafone mobile users in Auckland,   but if I try locally (in Christchurch) to call my 2Talk service from my Vodafone mobile I get a recorded message ""the number you have called is not currently active or is invalid".

While 2Talk Tech Support have tried to help, 2Talk & their upstream provider has been unable to duplicate the problem (probably because they are trying from Auckland and not Christchurch).

Vodafone after charging me an extra $1.00 to talk to a "live support person" told me it was not their equipment or service as I could place outgoing calls and receive calls with other telecos.

Has anyone else experienced this type of issue ?

Obviously,  unless this resolved the 2Talk service is virtually useless to me as a business service as I cannot risk advertising the 2Talk number unless it works from all  telecos.

Update

Issue was not location based but if you were on prepay number range was not opened up.

Opened up range for prepay customers.

John

That explains why it worked on my on account mobile from Dunedin....

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Hi,
i had someone trying to ring me yesterday for a vodafone on contract phone from the deep south to an 03-975xxxx number and got a message saying number didn't exist.

Is this a similar fault / setup issue at vodafone?
Thanks
