I have no idea why I am following this geekiest of threads. But here I am posting now...

I reckon that I have close to the average number of numbers.

Home DDI
Work DDI
Work Mobile

And if TCL did unbundling, and my work thought it was a good idea to save money, then I feel I would only need one number. That being my work Mobile.

But in saying this, they would still probably need to tie my Mobile to a landline number on the PABX, so I'd still probably have two.

That's it. Not even a work DDI.

Actually I should have a fax and data number on the mobile - how old fashioned - but I haven't used them for many years.

I also am responsible for a telephone system with approx 2200 extns, 700 of which are DDIs (I know it doesn't count but thought I'd mention it) :)

PS - Even though I have lots of numbers, one of my 2talk numbers I use as a 'pointer' with their one number service to ring my home/work/mobile for friends and family. that way they don't have to keep track of what phone i'm using.

2talk auckland "business" number - given out to people that I want to get a business name on the messaging
2talk auckland home number
2talk wellington home number
2talk 028 because they are free to have
2talk 028 fax to email number

vodafone prepay because some people I know are still on it
2 telecom prepays with ported 021 numbers - one for each business
1 vodafone account for data in the N95 - can go to prepay now however and get rid of it
1 telecom prepay with an 027 number that I have used all over the net so have to keep active.

2 UK numbers thru tescophone - they are free
1 UK number thru orbtalk

5 x 6 digit 028 numbers, all 028 XYZ AAA format. Collected these to port as pretty numbers to a real mobile network when outbound mobile porting from Callplus becomes available.

3 x Auckland numbers - one personal, two business.
1 x Auckland fax.

1 x Hawkes Bay voice number.
1 x Hawkes Bay fax number.

1 x Home number
1 x Faxability number

Vodafone:

1 x YouChoose sim
3 x Prepay sims (gsm gateways)
2 x Data sims

B&W:

1 x Test SIM
1 x Retail SIM

Other:

2 x Test SIMs - same network (unable to name).
