If the adsl port wait list there is quite high there will quite likely be a local wireless internet service, might pay to ask around.

It is interesting trying to arrange broadband long distance

I had someone looking for a rental property for me. Once found I checked to see if ADSL2+ was available in the area and it was, however no provider can tell me whether there are ports available in the exchange without actually placing an order.

Slingshot couldn't give me any details unless I could give them a phone number at the property which is not possible because I hadn't even leased it.

Next issue is that that if I got a POTS line (which I would pay for) and added Broadband which my work will pay for, TelstraClear can't separate the billing.

Now to my question

In Australia I have my phone line with Telstra and my broadband with another provider. Can you do that in NZ? That is what I may be forced to do just to separate out the billing

Thanks

Telstra don't offer ADSL without having your phone line and toll calling with them in NZ.

It's annoying but fortunately other ISP's do.
