I use the native gingerbread client also

On vodafone, it is pretty crap compared to telecom, and if my car is moving, i dont expect it to work at all.

I actually find VoIP performance better on Vodafone than XT but like many things it would depend where you are located.

As for mobile - that can't work perfectly on any WCDMA network due to the inherent latency spikes and packet loss during handovers with current HSDPA and HSPA+ implimentations.

I've actually done quite a few drive tests simulating calls and the basis of my claim is stats that showed better MOS scores on Vodafone than on XT.

The fact that when i pull over and stop, the voip call starts working normally, but when its sitting in the dash board cradle and start driving at 30km/h it starts cutting out again. I do expect bandwidth to drop down from the tower to a moving CPE device but not really to that point.

Could be since the 2d cellphone towers started popping up around napier that the vodafone signal levels have suddently become very erratic. eg. Going from one bar to 4 bars and back down again while standing still in the almost everywhere in the city. Seems to be happening to a number of peope ive been talking to. Dont know if the 2d towers are related though.

I have been playing and have got 3cx android client to play ball,

but theres always one thing there is no audio on 3g on the android, have tested on wireless and audio works,

Just wondering I am using an old dynalink RTA1025W from last decade, will the QOS have any bearing on the audio or am I heading in the wrong direction?

is there any router that handles sip better than others?

cheers

Can't you just look at the signal on the handset?

Can you detail how you obtained your MOS values out of interest?

Using Visualware MyConnection Server and running simulated VoIP call tests from a laptop while both stationary and mobile.

With all the recent upgrades on both Vodafone and XT I'm actually interested to repeat the testing and see what performance is like, particularly during handovers.
