A quick Google search on this code seems to indicate problems with external USB devices, mainly hard drives. Try unplugging all devices and booting again. You might have to completely power down the computer then start it again.

Okk well i searched at first on google found the same thing but he dose not have any external things no USB drives or anything... and also when i searched they all said it was when they are installing vista. I talked to him like 5 mins ago and his wife said that it happend to her when she went to power it off but it dose not make sense to me. Why would it come up if you are trying to power it down it should not be loading any .sys files anyway.... I dont have a copy of vista to reinstall on it so i am a little stuck on it..... Just wondering if worst comes to worst and i need to reinstall windows will a pirated be fine to use...?? i dont want to go buy it for like $500 to fix the computer.

Note: If i cant use these terms or i am braking the rules (e.g Pirated)  can some mod/admin please change it into the right text so it is not breaking and rules on the forums. That was the best i could think of =)

So you mean this one is not legal either? Best option is to reinstall the original OS then...

If it's an original, then you should have a reinstall DVD, or at least a secret partition with the software for reinstall... If not, contact the manucaturer and ask for that to be provided. You have already paid for it, why pirate?

the laptop should come with 2 discs - recovery disc and "OPERATING SYSTEM" disk. use the operating system disk and try to use repair operating system option and see if it will fix the problem. if you dont have that disk you need to get it from the shop. in fact any vista operating disc will do if you're desperate, they're all the same (as long as you have the same "bit" eg 32 or 64 bit)

AFAIK most will not come with disc's which is why the likes of HP/COMPAQ have been made to include the disc's overseas.

Here in NZ you will normally be asked to make a set of recovery disc's when you first start-up your new PC ot laptop

Okkk found out what was wrong with it. It was a Cyclic redundancy check on the HDD. I whould have no ider on how to fix it so i just replaced the laptop and Dick Smith said they will send it back to Toshiba and see if they can get any data of it... soo hope they do... They gave me a exta 40gbs so i am happy about that. They did not give me the OS disk.

haha lol thats what happened to me but the mother board just burnt out or something, and they gave me an xtra 40gb,
how ever you can press F10 at the boot process and tap it rapidly till u hear a beep, then from on their u can do a Advance recovery which deletes every thing and makes ur comp brand new or do a non destructive one which just recovers the files that were previously deleted
