timmmay: Have you gone into computer management (start -> run -> type "computer manage"), gone into the disk section, partitioned and formatted the disk?

So how do I format this drive so as can install windows?
joker97: shouldn't need to format anything.
make sure the connections are in the right order
make sure bios recognises it.
if bios recognises it then either the bios setting or the OS is to blame
if bios doesn't see it then your wiring is in wrong order/not connected
