Hi All,

I am being asked to install plug in 22002.1 everytime i try and use windows (this includes booting up, running installer etc.) Im assuimg this has been deleted when something has been uninstalled.

Any ideas how to fix my problem?

by the way - It is an MSI file, I have googled it and searched the microsoft website and have found nothing. It does not  boot up windows correctly. I can use the task manager to start new processes but there is no start menu etc.

I would recommend you run an antivirus and antispyware scan for all files. Have done that, run MSCONFIG and check that there isn't anything strange on startup.

As advised I did a spyware scan with Adaware and a Virus check with Symantic. These both returned nothing, and I am still having the same problem.

Any more ideas?

Try AVG Antispyware ... picked up on a trojan that AAW missed the other week on my laptop, which was a bit freaky after I had thought my system had been squeaky clean for months and all AAW had been picking up on were cookies.  Hijackthis gives you a pretty good idea of what's running too (after you've matched what you've got against various references)
