I keep hearing rumours that Vista is being binned, but have not seen anything in the press yet.

Have you heard any news guys ?

There are many articles which may just claim Vista is bad, not good for computing but if you just ignore them and really get the right machine and use Vista, its a treat! Well, sure there were certain things that went wrong with Vista, but yes, it has come through a rough path and Microsoft did release several updates to Vista which has made it good.

Yes - I can't believe it either, but I've heard it in Germany, UK and from a mate in the States, so I am confused, and slightly hopeful that it will be binned.

Every person I know who has installed it has run screaming back to XP with a couple of months, (even those that bought new hardware to suit).
The main reason given were drivers and compatabilty.

Sorry but why do you hope it will be binned?

I have had almost nothing but good times with Vista. The only times I have had problems, are when older programs will not work, but that is not MS problem but the original software developers.

Personally I hope it stays as it is a darn sight better than XP.

To all of the trolls out there, please do not troll this thread as if it gets trolled this will have to get locked.

There's almost no doubt that Vista hasn't been well received at all, due to it's lack of drivers and different ways of doing things for no obvious benefit.

However that being said, the amount of time and effort MS has put into Vista means that it's not going to be binned. How could MS bin something that is being sold on almost all new laptops? It would cause so many different companies no end of grief and loss of finances.

I suspect that MS isn't going to devote much time or effort to really support it, no doubt hoping the next consumer release of their OS will be embraced by the public instead. Like how Me is hardly remembered anymore...

I read a news item over the last few days that MS is bringing out a fix for people who have pirated copies of vista in the first quarter of next year. The 2 fixes are aimed at people who have done either a factory bios emulated key or a time stop crack. I am pretty certain thats what this article said but dont quote me there. Anyhow with that in mind I dont think that sounds like MS wanting to ditch vista yet.
