With SP3 moving from beta to actual release does anyone here have any comments about it? good/bad?

Sure it'll save downloading the 90 odd patches required to make SP2 safe and sound, but do the additional benefits of SP3 make it worth downloading in its present form or, like all MS release's, would most people be best to wait for the next couple of patch tuesdays to roll by first?

There's no "release" yet. It's a RC2. It means it's what they expect to release soon, but not necessarily the final. They had RC1 before and still no word on when it will be RTM.

If you don't want to run beta software then I wouldn't install.

Having said that the Geekzone IRC bot in our chat channel is running on a Windows XP SP3 RC machine.
