My wife runs a community center and has their email and calender  synced between her home laptop and the community center PC via office 365 and Outlook 2016 and Outlook.com .

This morning she called me a in a panic saying that half her calender entries had vanished at the com  center.  I ran up her home PC and sure enough they were gone.  They were there last week.  Logged into the com center Outlook.com online account and it was the same.  Some entries being 12 hours out. After do some online research I found that her Outlook.com calender had some how gone  into Pacific standard time.  reset that back  to NZST and the online calender all came back as normal but the Outlook 2016 was still out on both PCs  with large wholes in the days.  Waited about an hour but no change.     More online research  indicated that this was  a problem encountered my several people and most solved the problem by deleting their Outlook account on  their PC and recreating it again.  I did this and on both PCs and  the calenders were synced again.  The odd this now is that that account now shows as being connected to Microsoft Exchange where the old account was connected to Exchange -Active Sync.

I deleted my account on my  PC that was connected as Exchange Active sync and recreated it again but it still shows Active Sync where as the com center account I setup on my PC shows Microsoft Exchange.

Is Microsoft migrating accounts from Active Sync to Microsoft Exchange  with Outlook.com accounts or what ??  Even the online look and feel of the calenders is different between the Active Sync and Microsoft Exchange

Thanx in advance..

I noticed some changes on my MS Outlook about 3 weeks ago, I started getting error messages when checking for email.

I went hunting and this is what I found

http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/outlookcommigrationinfo.htm#outlook2010

Nice of them to tell us eh?

I have since created new Microsoft Email accounts but still need to clean up the old.

I have noticed that a lot of appointments did not get changed to the new calendar but it seems the tasks did ok

I also noticed the contacts also had some very old ones I though had been deleted a long time ago, they must have still been kept on Outlook.com on the web

I still have not decided whether to change back to POP3 or not

I belive Microsoft is migrating all outlook to office 365 type accounts, 2 of my hotmails, have had to sync to 'outlook.office365.com' while one other is still syncing to m.hotmail.com.

Thanx Guys,

Jedsdad answered a question I had last week when her old laptop with Outlook 2010 using Hotmail connector   refused to connect and gave an error message.  I deleted both accounts   and recreated them again and both came up as Microsoft Exchange and worked fine.

I see that my Outlook.com  account is syncing to bay407-m.hotmail.com , the wife's to eas.outlook.com and the community center one as a proper Exchanger Server Account.

The did this with my mothers Hotmail account not long ago, no notification though it just stopped working with the Hotmail connector. A notification would have been nice.
