I recently reformated Windows XP and received an error signature
BCCode: 10000050
BCP4:0000
BCP1:FFBE0028
BCP3:F91DB4F1
Product 256_1
OSVer 5_1_26000

I have searched for a cause for this....and am clueless.

Any ideas?

What are your system specifications?
Where/when did this error occur?
Does it keep coming up on its own?
Can you replicate the error by following the same steps?
Is your media original, unpirated, and scratch free?
Have you tried a different CD-ROM drive?
Does your machine boot, or get stuck there?

system specifications??? not sure what you mean...Windows xp pro.
This error occurred after I went through f11 and went back to original factory settings.
It does come up on it's own.
I did replicate the error after a hard reboot and going through f11 and following the prompts.
The media is original and no CD was needed.
The machine gets stuck there.

System specifications = CPU, RAM, HDD, Motherboard etc.
Does the system get to the Windows XP boot screen with the moving blue bars?
Originial media, but "no CD was needed" ? Are you using a restore partition? If so, what make and model is your PC?
