Since upgrading to latest version of Teamviewer, it now can't find my internet connection. Browsing on the same machine works absolutely fine.

Running XP (yes, I know, it's old) with Service Pack 3 - but everything worked fine before the last update. Windows Firewall allows connections. Rolled back to version 8 but it says "not ready...please check your connection" after installing. Tried stopping/restarting the service. Has anyone got this working in Windows?

Also - AVG continuously reports an error, saying that the connection is offline. Everything is enabled (that I can see) in Windows Firewall. Am I missing something here?

Edit: someone suggested it might be something to with IPv6?

I'm on windows 10, latest teamviewer not finding internet either.

Yep same above Teamviewer 12 and Windows 10. ISP is Spark.

"Not ready. Please check your connection."

Edit: Disabled IPv6 no difference.

Edit: Scheduled maintenance

I'll try it again this afternoon and see how it goes.

Edit: just tried now (the status page reports the move as completed) and it seems to be working.

While you're here, is AVG giving anyone (similar) grief at the moment? That one has been giving me headaches for a few days now.

Yes. AVG is not the AVG we loved many years back. Now owned by Avast, so it may get worse.

Its crapware, remove it & save yourself a ton of grief.
No longer a good product (just my opinion)

Well, that stinks. Can you suggest a suitable replacement? Or should I try rolling back to an older version of AVG?

Sophos Home Edition has worked well for me except on one system. Dont know if supports XP though.

This is true, but last time i checked it can be turned off.

how far back are you going to roll it, years ? Will it even then update sig's correctly ?

Find something else. Note that many wont even mention XP in compatable OS's . It will be a matter of trying & seeing if it actually installs
Avoid Avast, Avira, AVG : pop ads, scareware tactics etc

Could try Bitdefender Free , dont know if its Xp compatable, and they dont make it easy to find either
Also, most freeAV wont scan incoming email .

As much as I hate to recommend it , Spark offers McAfee free to its customers.
Might be OK with a custom install & disable MOST of the options incl its firewall . Not sure if its XP compatible though
