With 20/20 hindsight I realise I should have labelled my sticks somehow.

But I didn't.

So I have a handful of USB sticks with Win10 installs on them created by the MCT.

Short of actually installing from them, is there any way I can tell what version of Win10 is on them?

I have Win 10 on USB downloaded using MCT.

Re-installs Home or Pro depending what was previously on the computer.

So I do know that any USB stick created now will have 1709 on it.

But most of these sticks will have something earlier.

I believe the MCT gives you the latest version of Win 10.

I see what you are saying about your mixed bag of MCT USB sticks.

I would clean them all up and get the latest download.

hio77:

Why not just redownload and reinstall?

Because that is not what I want to do.

I want to be able to determine what version of Windows 10 is on my sticks.

Some have an earlier version which I do not want to over-write.

(googling : reply #2 in this thread https://www.tenforums.com/installation-upgrade/55808-what-version-win-10-media-creation-tool-giving.html)

As for the version in the .iso look at Properties of the setup.exe file and the Details tab.

That's brilliant, it gives me, 32 or 64 bit info, US or UK language, and a build number.

I have found a table that coverts builds into versions.

Everything I need to know. About Windows 10 install files anyway.
