Hi there

First time poster here...

I'm at my wits end with my new rig.

Palit 8800 GT
Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L
4GB RAM DDR800
350GB WD SATA
Viewsonic VX2835wm Monitor

I've installed VISTA, and it was fine for the first couple of days.   And then I updated it to SP1 and nvidia's 175.16 drivers for my card...
this is when the problems started!

a)my bios post screen is now shrunk to like 30% of what it was fullscreen

b)i'm unable to scale any resolution(other than my 1900x1200) i choose to display in fullscreen.  I usually end up with black bands around the edges

I've tried Nvidias overscan patch but that did buggerall. And ive also changed the install script as per http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=58483&pid=330319&mode=threaded&show=&st=&#entry330319

Nothing has worked.
