Hi

I'm having some problems with the keyboard on my HP Pavilion laptop.  I did knock some wine over, and some splashed, so I assume that caused it, however the issues seem very erratic so I am not sure.

some letters work on lower case, but not upper, case in poins the "s".  some letters don't work at all sometimes.

In lightroom, I used to be able to press ctrl and select multiple images for merging into either hdr or pano mode.  This no longer works.

I have Googled and tried one or to things, but still the erratic errors, which vary in execution. The lightroom issue started tonight, and nothing I've tried has helped.

Help greatly appreciated.

I'm assuming I can use a USB keyboard as a plug n play in the meantime

Yeah mate, it's best to take the keyboard out and look at the product code so you can look it up and get a replacement, second best is to just use the laptop model number and serial to find a replacement keyboard.

I've successfully gotten replacement keyboards from Aliexpress. They usually go for around $40, depending on your make and model. If you need help in Auckland let me know.

I'm in Hastings.  Not too sure about taking laptop apart, but seeing as I have, at times, put different/extra cards into a PC, I suppose it can't be too difficult

It's actually quite easy, I've replaced several and I'm not exactly the DYI kind. Search YouTube for videos about how to replace the keyboard for your laptop.

This laptop, HP Pavilion has solid keyboard with separate keys - if that makes sense

Using a plug in USB keyboard should also help prove the keyboard is faulty.

I'd also check to see if you haven't got a stuck (gummed up) key that is stuck in the depressed position. From memory the keys operate in matrix and one stuck key can cause unusual results when another key is pressed.
