I have a couple of older servers running Server 2K3 that are running low on space on the system drive.

I've done a bit of housekeeping and cleared as much as I can without going into great detail on the temp files and logs that are clogging things up.

I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendation on whether or not to use a utility like CCleaner on a live Server 2K3 box?  If it's not a good idea, are there any utilities around specifically for server OS's that can perform the same type of functions and clear me some space??

Never had a problem running ccleaner on 2k3 but as always make sure you have a recent OS drive disk image just in case.

Every Windows server I setup gets an "installs" share setup with ccleaner portable folder under it.  This way can run it on the server or any workstations in the lan without "installing it" and I dont have to set the preferences on each different computer/login.

NEVER had a problem and have been using ccleaner for ages.

Ditto here as well.. CCleaner on 20+ 2003 servers and never hit a problem with it.

I have a client who installed Nero7 on their Server2003.... I'm uninstalling it (for obvious reasons) and there are hundreds of registry items referring to Nero.   I ran the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, but will CCleaner take care of of removing the rest?    Anyone had experience with this?

It should do using the registry cleaning option. Smile
