Hi guys,

All my MP3's are labled int he following format:

Artist Name - Song Name

In my WMP 11 libuary list, most file names don't appear the same. Some are called simply "Track 1", "Track 2" etc. Others don't match the actua file name visible in a folder in windows.

Is there anyway i can get WMP to read the actual file name?

It's probably reading the tags.  There is software that will write the tags based on the filename and vice versa, you probably want something like that.  I don't use it heavily but I haven't found WMP to be very user friendly when it comes to editing tags.  Otherwise, you can always use the find album info to update it (that won't change the file names as far as I know, just the tags).

Your best bet is to get something to fix all the MP3 ID tags. There are plenty of these programs around so it's really a matter of personal preference. Most will let you select a directory of files and then strip the tags replacing the artist and song name from the filename.

Sounds just what i need.

Does anyone know any good software that can do this?

I'll have a look around in the meantime.

Cheers

Isn't that exactly what I said?

Anyway, try mp3tag...
