Hi,

I have a wierd problem on my XP PC that I can't find anything on the Internet about. If I create a new file or update a file and save it to disk it is saved with no date and time, this column is blank in Explorer.

Just started doing this today - what could cause this behaviour? Some applications have problems because the files have no dates on them. The directories the files are in also loose their date and time when a file in them is modified.

Example below shows missing date/time on directories MyMail, Tmp etc. Files in these directories also have no date/time:

Any ideas - Thanks!

An update on this issue. Seems an old MSDOS game I installed was upsetting XP causing the clearing of dates on unrelated updated files and their directories.

Rebooting resolved the issue provided the dos game was not rerun. I had to re-edit the files with missing dates after rebooting to get the date back again.

Beware of what old dos games can do on a modern pc. Offending program(s) were Secret Agent and Monkey Island.
