Hi All,
ive done a search but couldn't find much info regarding my type of situation...
My partner Jane is a photographer and these questions are regarding the PC that she uses for editing etc...
she spends around 10 hours per day at this computer so its fairly highly used.
Jane just bought lightroom 3 the other day and at the same time did a little bit of an upgrade on the hardware
I threw in some more RAM and an SSD to install the OS on
so she is now running 8GB DDR3 ram, e8400 CPU, 40gb intel SSD, 1tb seagate 7200rpm for data and backs up client data on the NAS
the OS is win7 x64 to take advantage of the extra ram etc...
next on the upgrade list is a new motherboard and an i7 cpu but thats a few months down the track
ive installed windows on the SSD but prettymuch all the other apps are on the other drive as the SSD is space limited.
my question is with the amout of ram i have and the fact that windows is located on an SSD what are your thoughts around pagefile?
she is a heavy user and often has firefox/outlook2010/lightroom/photoshop cs4 open all at the same time all day chewing up loads of resource...
so disable all together? some on C and a bigger on on D? leave how it is?
cheers for your help :)
Sam
