Does anybody know of a free BKF file repair program?

i get this message when i open it

The backupfile is ither damaged or could not be found

you can attempt to catalog the contents of a damgaged backup by turning off the option to use media catalogs

thanks for any help in advance

This seems to have some information on it, avoiding all the scam sites.

FYI I found this in Google by searching for bkf corrupt -buy -demo -shareware -purchase




Audiophiles are such twits! They buy such pointless stuff: Gold plated cables, $2000 power cords. Idiots.

Ya i have found a couple that can actually see the data but being shareware you have to pay to save. I didnt realy want to spend $150 us data was not worth that

ok got the files out thanks to the last person to post

went to this website

http://www.fpns.net/willy/msbackup.htm#NTBKUP

from there grabed a copy of ntbackup from the link posted on that site opened a command prompt draged and droped the ntbackup program i downloaded into the command box put in a space draged and droped the bkf file i then used these switches -x -j -f

couldnt figure out where it was putting it so did a search for one of the files extracted
turned out to be

c:\documentandsettings\user

cut all the docs out. they were all jumbled up i have to sort but i got it out without having to pay anything

that would mean i lost all my data. and the laptop was formated

its sorted now
