I just did a clean install from Windows XP to Windows 7 yesterday and in doing so erased all my drivers. They are all fixed except for one; my audio driver. I have a Realtek AC'97 intergrated sound card. The sound icon on the taskbar wouldn't work until I installed the latest official drivers from the Realtek website. I am now able to use the speaker thing but no sound comes out and windows doesn't detect the headphones or speakers that I use. Also, when I had Windows XP, I would plug an audio device and my SoundMax audio Manager would detect what I've plugged in but there is nothing like this now. So I have two questions: What is my problem and how do I fix it?
Yeah I searched. I just found out the issue: I have an Intel D865GLC Motherboard that doesn't have compatible drivers for windows 7 thus I can't install the drivers? If there is a way around this PLEASE tell me.
When I install it I get this message:Windows Detected This Program Did Not Run Correctly. To Try And Fix The Problem, Windows Has Applied Compatibility Settings To The Program etc.
Don't worry. I just got the latest one of the intel website and it worked. My speakers, which didn't work very well (connection issue), seems to work perfectly now too
