It promises to allow me to see my hotmail and live.com addresses in outlook. But all it ever says is

Mail : connecting
Calendar : connecting
Contacts : connecting

when  click the status that it adds to the bottom.

I have tried adding and removing the account several times - same thing.

I have my personal hotmail.com address in there which will connect sometimes, but not often, but adding the work backup live.com account we have for emailing to idiot ISP's with spamfilter issues has not worked, and I am getting sick of copy and pasting into the hotmail web interface to get them to send.

So, am I correct in assuming it should work for all live.com and hotmail.com addresses, not just some?

Is it reliable for anyone else?

Works for me. MS released an updated Outlook connector installer last month I think. Without the update installed, existing connector install will not fetch any ermails.

Hmm, good point, may not have restarted since that came down, and I seldom use my own hotmail account but it did get an email that came 2 weeks ago. Will reboot and do windows update again and see what happens.

Here is the link to direct download if Windows update does not pick it up.

Ok, rebooted, only things windows update is offering is SP1 and IE9 and a video driver that crashes, nothing there for live. I downloaded the windows live setup and its showing everything installed ok.

I tried adding the account to windows live mail and it works, so the account and password is fine, just outlook being dumb about it.

Am I correct in that it should support multiple accounts in outlook? I have removed and added the one I want in there about 4 times now with no change, and my personal address is working fine since I just send an email to and from my gmail fine.

Its changed to connected in the status dialog, but nothing happens when I send/recieve it, but no email showing in any folders.

It allowed me to make folders in outlook which are not reflected in the webmail either.

Hmm, interesting, clicking detailed report brings up notepad with some stuff on one account, but nothing happens on the other account.

Edit: ok, weird, its just shown some email now. Not too keen if its going to be this unreliable and slow with under 100 mails in the inbox. Hate to think what it will be like when its at a few 1000

I have my work exchange and personal hotmail account in my Outlook. I have SP1 installed as well. Recommend SP1 for sure :-)

Also if HTTPS is enabled in your hotmail/live account login by default, then Outlook will refuse to pull emails untill you turn off HTTPS in your hotmail settings.

Take a look at accounts.live.com to see if HTTPS is on or off.
