Hi Peeps,
I would be mighty grateful to anyone who can solve this problem. In brief I appear to have a fault (not sure if hardware or software at this point) which prevents me from using the most handy device of all - the usb thumb drive.
When I put a thumb drive into a port on my windows 7 machine it:
(a) takes about 1 minute before the computer gives any indication that its been plugged in and then;
(b) a dialog box appears saying "You need to format the disk in drive j: before you can use it"
Now there is nothing wrong with the usb drives. I have tried more than one, and they all work fine in other computers.
But I cant see what in windows I can do to fix this? and its driving me nuts.
Anyone?
Cheers
-Al
