HI there - for my work I need to be able to use the AirNZ website for finding flight information - when I go there and put in the cities etc and then click go on the bottom left hand of IE6 it says error - I assume that the error has something to do with the Javascript.

I have searched on google and tried different suggestions - I have looked at my Internet Tools Security settings and they seem ok - have even done custom and enable active scripting - still doesnt work. I have no idea what to do next or how to get it working as i know nothing about Javascript

Please can someone help

Is this happening on the Air NZ website only, or any website with Javascript?

Only noticed it with the AirNZ site - though it works ok my the home comp but just the laptop Im using for work it doesnt work - Havent really noticed which other sites use Javascript and that

If it's only the work laptop, check that there's no firewall software or antispyware software blocking scripts.

Im using the same stuff as my home - Windows Defender & AVGFree and thats it thats on all the time

Were you able to get the pop-up window at all or is the error only on the main page?

If you are not comfortable with a debugger, I would strongly recomment downloading the latest version of Firefox. Different browsers handle JS differently. I've personally found Firefox to be a superior browser in many aspects including handling javascript errors.

Firefox has a javascript console that will actually tell you what the error is. Give it a go and if you still have a problem, at least you will get the error message.

Sorry to ask the obvious, but does the lappy have java? Up to date? (JRE 9) And what type of firewall?
If no Java (chack add/remove programs in control panel) you can get it http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

Do not worry about that - Java and Javascript are different things. Unless the OP is really having problems with Java and did not know the difference.

I uninstalled Java the other day and reinstalled but no difference when trying to get www.airnz.co.nz site to actually work for me.

I cant put Firefox on my laptop as one of the programmes I use for work is not compatible - only with IE

I have no idea the difference between Java & Javascipt - I assume the error is javascript as when I am on the AirNZ site and click go it says error on page and when you hold the go down it has some javascript link so that why I think it that.

So if anyone has any idea how to get it working that'll be great!

BTW thanks for that other AirNZ link - that works but would still like to fix the other :-)
